To celebrate two decades of continuous 911 production, Porsche marked 1987 with a special commemorative model, an edition that would stand as both a tribute to the company’s engineering prowess and a statement of refined sporting luxury. The 911 Carrera 3.2 “Jubilee,” introduced to coincide with the Frankfurt Motor Show that September, would become one of the most exclusive variants of the G-series cars. The model was launched to celebrate the production of 250.000 units of the 911, and it bridged Porsche’s heritage and its forward-looking confidence entering the mid-1980s.

Limited to just 870 examples worldwide, the Jubilee was based on the soon-to-be-launched Carrera 3.2 platform, utilizing the new 3,164-cc flat-six engine rated at 231 horsepower when fitted with Bosch Motronic injection. Performance figures were true to Zuffenhausen form: 0–100 km/h in just over six seconds and a top speed near 245 km/h. The model offered an intoxicating blend of urgency and smoothness, a clear evolution from the preceding 911 SC while remaining unmistakably analog in feel.

Distinguishing the Jubilee from standard production were numerous subtle details. All were finished in the exclusive Diamond Blue Metallic paint with color-keyed Fuchs wheels and a special full-leather interior trimmed in Doric Grey with matching piping and carpeting. The front spoiler and “whale tail” rear wing were borrowed from the 911 Turbo, while a plaque on the dashboard proudly commemorated the manufacture of "250.000 Porsche 911". A higher level of standard equipment, including electric mirrors, sports seats, and a sunroof, underscored the model’s celebratory intent—blending grand touring comfort with the immediacy of the classic air-cooled experience.
